Call for papers. AHRI Conference. Human Rights Defenders under Siege
Conference organized by the Pedro Arrupe Institute of Human Rights of the University of Deusto in the framework of the Association of Human Rights Institutes (AHRI) between 7 and 9 September 2023 at the University of Deusto in Bilbao.
The core topic of the Conference is about the role of human rights defenders, a highly dangerous activity in a number of countries.
In 2023 we will be commemorating the 25th anniversary of the adoption by the General Assembly of the United Nations of the Declaration on Human Rights Defenders on 10 December 1998.
Our aim is to turn this Conference into a plural space in which academia, public institutions, and, above all, human rights defenders, come together to discuss and exchange good practices that will facilitate the defense of all human rights in an increasingly complex scenario.
